The C Series is the first newly designed single-aisle plane that provides a consistent avionics experience that increases pilot situational awareness and reduces workload. The advanced flight deck accommodates two-member flight crew, comprising of a pilot and a co-pilot.

With 123 orders as of 28 June 2016, the first CS100 was delivered to Swiss Global Air Lines on 29 June 2016. Swiss began its revenue flight on 15 July 2016 with a flight between Zurich and Paris.
